Morcha cadres demonstrate against attack on Mahato, market shut


Dec 27, 2015- Protests erupted in various places of Saptari since early Sunday after Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato was injured in a clash between security personnel and Madhesi Morcha cadres on Saturday.
Madhesi Morcha supporters are demonstrating in Rajbiraj, Hanuman nagar, Bhardaha among other places. Protesters are burning tyres at places including Gajendra Chowk and Janaaandolan Chowk in Rajbiraj.
The shops that reopened on Sunday morning have been shut after 11 am. The banks are also shut. Only government offices remained open.
However, educational institutions have remained unaffected by the protest. Schools are running without school uniforms on Sunday.
Morcha cadres carried out demonstration and chanted slogans against government and Ministry of Home Affairs in front of the District Police Office.
Central chairperson of the student wing Kishor Kumar Yadav urged the government to take actions against the police involved in the attack on Mahato.
